Ashvatthama’s hatred for Arjuna was building up, with his blood boiling within. His repentance for his cruel killing was overpowered by his demonaic impulse to exterminate the Pandava race. Like a man possessed, the strong urge to see the Pandava race heirless instigated him to try his luck with the brahmastra a second time. The weapon set out on its mission of killing even the foetus of the women of the Pandava family. Uttara was carrying Abhimanyu’s child. Abhimanyu was Arjuna’s son by Subhadra, Krishna’s sister. He met with his death in the war by the unethical attitude of the Kauravas. Since Krishna had always been their saviour, Uttara was sure of his assistance. She pleaded him to save her unborn child from the powerful weapon. Knowing Ashvatthama to be behind the mischief, Krishna aimed his sudarshana chakra which could supersede the power of the brahmastra. In the meanwhile, Krishna entered the womb of Uttara by his illusory powers and shielded the foetus from harm. Defeated thus, Ashvatthama made up his mind to withdraw from inimical activities and adopt the life of a recluse.

On February 21, 2011 just 18 days before the Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan I posted an article on my face book page entitled:
THE PRESENT MATERIAL CIVILIZATION WILL MEET NUCLEAR OBLIVION AFTER 50 YEARS!
This was based on an article called “Godless Civilization” written by Srila Prabhupada in His BTG in 1956. I quoted the pertinent parts of the article and put in bold the important statements. Those statements were as follows:
“By the law of nature, the <span>"nuclear weapons" </span>have been produced for crushing the result of blind-materialism.”
“Nobody is enjoying the result of civilizations created by atheists like Ravana, Kansa, Aurangzeb, Napoleon or Hitler. Everything (they have created) is in oblivion and this teaches us the lesson that the materialistic plans of the present age will also meet with the same fate <span>"after a lapse of 50 years".</span> Therefore blind materialism does not bring in any permanent relief in the world."
Note that the prediction made in 1956 of just after a lapse of 50 years would mean 2006. So here we have the disaster in Japan 5 years later, in 2011, which has turned the country and now the world on its ear. We have an impending nuclear disaster that threatens the health and even the life of millions due to the production of nuclear energy. This is the present danger that we are now facing. A good friend of mine who is an eminent astrologer cast a chart for the time of the earthquake. He showed it to me this morning. It was very clearly indicated that serious immersion in water was to follow the earth quake with serious and catastrophic explosions right after. We have not seen the last of this yet. Tomorrow on Chaturdasi around 5:25 pm Tokyo time a planetary combination is going to be in place that could be the catalyst to bring down the house. If not then that enormous moon coming so close on Purinma could be a the deciding factor.
Arjuna once asked Bhisma Mahajan th following question: “the authorities say two things are great, action and destiny, of the two which is greater. Bhisma replied “yes both are great but of the two, action is greater than destiny because by your actions you can create your destiny.” Srila Prabhupada always said that by chanting and book distribution we could change the future of the world. Once when Srila Bhaktivedanta Vaman Maharaja was asked about his sadhana he told I chant 200,000 holy names a day 100,000 for me and 100,000 for the people of the world. So creating a confluence of the instructions of Bhisma Mahajan, Srila Prabhupada, and Srila Vaman Goswami Maharaja lets change destiny.
“Japa for Japan” is a request to all the devotees to chant a few extra rounds every day and offer it to the country and people of Japan so that they can be blessed by Sri Krishna who is the only one who can order a change of the environment. Only by Sri Krishnas intervention can this impending nuclear disaster be avoided. A Madhyama adhikari is supposed to have Prema, Love for Bhagavan, Maitri, friendship with superior devotees and devotees in general, and Krpa, mercy for the innocent. An innocent person is one who is not aware of how the laws of Karma work and how to become fortunate in this world. Let’s show the world we care, for mother earth, and her innocent inhabitants. Let’s show the world the power of the Maha Mantra and how it can change destiny by the power of transcendental sound vibration. Besides chanting Japa loudly we can do 24 hour kirtans and Hari Nama Sankirtan. All of this is useful. Remember as long as we perform the sacrifice for the age of Kali, Hari Nama Sankirtan, then all the demigods in the universe, under the direction of Sri Krishna will be pleased by this sacrifice and will act for the ultimate benefit of mother earth and her inhabitants. This transcendental sound vibration goes into the ether and purifies the entire atmosphere traveling around the world 7 times or more. All the Gaudiya Vaishnavas should come together form all sanghas. Invite friends and family and hold a big Kirtan in your home or temple. Get out in the streets and Chant. Spread the Prema Nama Sankirtan all around. Let people know that if they chant this mantra and invite this love into the atmosphere and into their hearts it will change the destiny of the world and of their lives.

of a great storm, approaching very quick. i wanted to run to a house for shelter, but no time, so i ran to the nearest tree (approx 1,5 m in diameter) and found a good crack to grap hold in, as not to fly away with the wind. i was hanging horizontal on the tree, floating in the wind like a flag. worrying what i would do if the tree falls, as i could not let go or i´d be blown away. i looked up towards the tree´s crown and noticed it was extremely strong and not going to bend or fall at all. still slightly frightened by the storm i started chanting god´s names (maha-mantra) and a great safety took hold of me, while observing the immensity of, and the many things carried away by the storm. as quickly as it had arrived it disappeared. now looking into the direction of the appearance (east) i beheld a most wonderful clear night sky with stars, surcharged with promise of a new and wonderful arrival of a holistic future ...looking towards the west i saw the storm disappearing in the far with lightning... peace and serenity, clarity and awe filled the atmosphere :-)
